Every Egoyibo account starts at the Basic level once your email is verified. Verifying your identity moves you to Verified, with a higher daily withdrawal limit. Crypto deposits have no limit at either level.

What you need
- Your NIN (National Identification Number, 11 digits)
- Your phone, for a live selfie taken in the app
- An Egoyibo account in the same name as your NIN record
How it works
- In the app, tap Me, then Verify with NIN.
- Enter your NIN. We check it against official identity records through our verification provider.
- Take a live selfie. We compare it with the photo on your NIN record.
- We check that the name on your Egoyibo account matches the name on your NIN.
If everything matches, you’re verified automatically. If something doesn’t line up, for example a different spelling of your name, a person on our compliance team reviews it and may approve it or ask you for more information.
Tips for a smooth selfie
- Good light on your face, no strong light behind you
- Remove glasses and caps
- Hold the phone at eye level and look straight at the camera
Good to know
- Each NIN can be linked to one Egoyibo account only.
- There’s a limit on verification attempts per day.
- Withdrawals only go to bank accounts in the same name as your Egoyibo account. Third-party payouts aren’t allowed.
What happens to your data
We use your NIN and selfie only to confirm who you are and to meet our anti-money-laundering duties. They’re stored securely with access limited to authorised staff, and kept for the period the law requires. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
Egoyibo staff will never ask for your PIN, password or email codes, not even during verification.
